Have you ever made just one trip to Home Depot to complete a project? It may just be me, but I don't think I'm the only one that experiences this. No matter how much I plan prior to my shopping excursion, every time I take on a relatively moderate project at home (not just replacing a door knob or screen) I end up having to make yet another excursion to Home Depot for a part that I forgot or mis-measured.
I'm convinced they pipe some type of odorless "forget shit" product in the air similar to the "buy shit" product they spray in Victoria Secrets that makes women buy $30 undergarments (not that I'm complaining) until I realize that I did, in fact, get everything on my list.
3 trips and counting for this one...
No doubt it is almost always a problem. I end up going back because I break something and need to repair it. I can't do a project with out wrecking something!

It seems to be worse in the plumbing department.

I used to go to the hardware and during the journey I would forget what I was going for.
Then I made lists, but they were limited by my cluelessness about home improvements. If you don't know what you need, how can you write it down?
Now I just buy loads of shit and hope that I have it covered. It means I could open my own hardware store with all the spare junk I have, but at least I have managed to get it down to two trips per task.
